I said no, when you wanted a yes.
I stayed there, when you needed a rest.
I screamed, I shouted, I played like a child.
Knowing that there must have been something wild.

Then I said no, when you felt so obsessed.
I said no, when you just couldn't rest.
Now I scream yes, but can hear you say no.
I will say no, but won't let you go.
